How to Track Galaksion Traffic

ClicksTracker has a native Galaksion integration for popunder campaigns. Connect your account, launch from a ready made template, and capture zone IDs in your custom variables so every conversion traces back to the zone that produced it.

What you will set up

A Galaksion traffic source holding your credentials, a campaign from a template, a Campaign URL that carries Galaksion's tokens, and a two way postback so conversions reach both ClicksTracker and Galaksion. You will use the ten custom tracking variables, v0 through v9, to record zone and campaign data.

Step by step

1

Add Galaksion as a traffic source

Go to Traffic Sources, click Add Traffic Source, put Galaksion in the name and click Create Traffic Source. ClicksTracker reads the network from the name when the traffic source is created, so the Integration tab appears, and a later rename does not change the network. Open the new traffic source, go to that tab, enter your Galaksion Account Email and Account Password and click Save Credentials. Saving does not call Galaksion, so click Test Connection: ClicksTracker signs in to the Galaksion API with the saved email and password.

Set the external ID token to Galaksion's click id, [:click_id], and map custom variables to the tokens you want to record, for example v0 = {zoneid} and v1 = {cid}. You set these on the traffic source's Settings tab and save them with Update Traffic Source; the create form has the same fields in its Traffic Source Parameters table, where Add Variable adds a custom variable row.

In the same table, untick Enable on the Cost row, which starts ticked. While it is ticked, the Campaign URL carries cost={cost}, and a number Galaksion puts there replaces the cost set on the campaign. On a CPM campaign ClicksTracker divides that number by 1000, so a per click amount would read 1000 times too low.

2

Create a campaign from a template

Use the iOS, Android, or Desktop templates for Galaksion popunder traffic on the CPM or SCPM model. Choose your countries, bid, and daily budget, and ClicksTracker creates the campaign through the Galaksion API.

3

Use the generated Campaign URL

ClicksTracker builds the Campaign URL for you. It carries the campaign ID plus the Galaksion tokens you mapped:

https://track.yourdomain.com/click?cid=42&eid=[:click_id]&v0={zoneid}&v1={cid}
ParameterCarries
cidYour ClicksTracker campaign ID.
eidGalaksion's click id, [:click_id], stored as the click's external_id for the return postback.
v0, v1The zone and campaign IDs ({zoneid}, {cid}), captured into the custom variables.
costAbsent once you untick the Cost row in step 1. While that row is ticked, the URL ends in &cost={cost}.

Galaksion's dashboard lists the click id as [:click_id], while one of its guides writes {click_id}. To see which one Galaksion fills, set the outbound postback of step 5, send one test conversion, then open View Postback Log on the traffic source's Postbacks tab and click the entry: if its Request URL shows the token itself after click_id= instead of an id, switch to the other form. Other Galaksion tokens you can map into v2 to v9: {cost}, {geo}, {creative_id}.

4

Capture zones in v0 to v9

With the zone IDs in a custom variable, your reports break performance down by zone. That is what zone optimization uses: ClicksTracker finds the zones that spend without converting and blocks them through the Galaksion API.

5

Set the conversion postbacks

Inbound: in your affiliate network, point the postback at your ClicksTracker conversion URL (Settings, Tracking Setup has ready made templates for ten networks).

Outbound: In Galaksion, open Campaigns and click Postback: the popup shows your postback URL with your account id in cid. Use it in ClicksTracker with the click id and payout macros:

http://postback.report/postback?cid=YOUR_ID&click_id={external_id}&price={payout}

The URL is the same for all your campaigns. Leave out price to use the rate configured in Galaksion. ClicksTracker fills {external_id} with the Galaksion click id stored on the click, and {payout} with the conversion's payout. See the postback setup guide for every macro.

6

Launch and optimize

Campaigns you create with Auto-Create are created paused, so start the campaign from the tracker when you are ready: on the traffic source's Campaigns Sync tab, select it, click Start at traffic source and confirm. Then watch conversions arrive in real time, and use the zone breakdown to block weak zones and scale the ones that convert, all from one dashboard.
