How to Track PropellerAds Traffic
ClicksTracker has a native PropellerAds integration for OnClick (popunder) and push campaigns. Connect your account, launch from a ready made template, and capture zone IDs in your custom variables so every conversion traces back to the zone that produced it.
What you will set up
A PropellerAds traffic source holding your credentials, a campaign from a template, a Campaign URL that carries PropellerAds's tokens, and a two way postback so conversions reach both ClicksTracker and PropellerAds. You will use the ten custom tracking variables, v0 through v9, to record zone and campaign data.
Step by step
Add PropellerAds as a traffic source
Go to Traffic Sources, click Add Traffic Source, put PropellerAds in the name and click Create Traffic Source. ClicksTracker reads the network from the name when the traffic source is created, so the Integration tab appears, and a later rename does not change the network. Open the new traffic source, go to that tab, paste your API Token from your PropellerAds advertiser account and click Save Credentials. Saving does not call PropellerAds, so click Test Connection to validate the token against the PropellerAds API.
Set the external ID token to PropellerAds's click id, ${SUBID}, and map custom variables to the tokens you want to record, for example v0 = {zoneid} and v1 = {campaignid}. You set these on the traffic source's Settings tab and save them with Update Traffic Source; the create form has the same fields in its Traffic Source Parameters table, where Add Variable adds a custom variable row.
Create a campaign from a template
Use the iOS, Android, or Desktop templates, pre-configured for PropellerAds OnClick (popunder) traffic with a CPM rate model and OS targeting set. Choose your countries, per country bid, and daily budget: ClicksTracker creates the campaign through the PropellerAds API and applies the budget caps right after creation.
Use the generated Campaign URL
ClicksTracker builds the Campaign URL for you. It carries the campaign ID plus the PropellerAds tokens you mapped:
| Parameter | Carries |
|---|---|
cid | Your ClicksTracker campaign ID. |
eid | PropellerAds's click id, ${SUBID}, stored as the click's external_id for the return postback. |
v0, v1 | The zone and campaign IDs ({zoneid}, {campaignid}), captured into the custom variables. |
PropellerAds changed some token names in its documentation in September 2026 (for example {zone_id} and {campaign_id}), while its own trackers article and most tracker templates still use the forms above. The token list under the Target URL field of your campaign is authoritative. Other PropellerAds tokens you can map into v2 to v9: {bannerid}, {zone_type}, {country}, {os}, {cost}.
Capture zones in v0 to v9
With the zone IDs in a custom variable, your reports break performance down by zone. That is what zone optimization uses: ClicksTracker finds the zones that spend without converting and blocks them through the PropellerAds API.
Set the conversion postbacks
Inbound: in your affiliate network, point the postback at your ClicksTracker conversion URL (Settings, Tracking Setup has ready made templates for ten networks).
Outbound: In PropellerAds, open the Tracking tab, choose Other tracker or CPA network and copy your aid and tid. Then use this outbound postback URL in ClicksTracker:
PropellerAds needs this S2S postback for CPA Goal and Smart Optimization. One URL covers all your campaigns, and the same tab can send a test conversion. ClicksTracker fills {external_id} with the PropellerAds click id stored on the click, and {payout} with the conversion's payout. See the postback setup guide for every macro.
Launch and optimize
Start the campaign, watch conversions arrive in real time, and use the zone breakdown to block weak zones and scale the ones that convert, all from one dashboard.
